KUO Group announces agreement to sell its eucalyptus plantations

MEXICO (Notifix.) – Grupo KUO, S.A.B. de CV (BMV: KUO), informed the market that it has reached a preliminary agreement with Proteak Uno, SAPIB DE CV, for the sale of eucalyptus plantations of its subsidiary Fomex SA de CV. The plantations involved are located in Tabasco, Oaxaca and Veracruz. The transaction is expected to be completed in the next 90 days. Proteak is a leading Mexican forestry company that produces and processes precious woods in Mexico and Central America that markets in the United States, Europe and Asia. Proteak operates its plantations in strict compliance with the guidelines of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), one of the more robust systems for ensuring sustainable economic, social and environmental practices in forestry. The company has over 9,000 hectares of plantations in Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico, making it one of the largest private companies in the world in this sector.
