MEXICO – In the first quarter of 2020 (1Q-2020) Tecnotabla, Proteak’s MDF manufacturer reached record sales volume of more than 56,000 m3, which meant a 17 percent increase against the sales volume of 4Q-2019 and a 4% increase versus 1Q-2019.
In values Tecnotabla closed 1T-2020 with sales of MXN 306 million, growing 4% vs. the same period of the previous year.
Under the strategic plan focused on increasing sales of added value products, sales volume of this category improved 13 percent vs the previous quarter and 102 percent vs. 1Q-2019.
Tecnotabla also improved market share in both the natural and value-added MDF segment, ranking second in the market. In the natural MDF segment the share increased to 23% vs 22% in 1Q-2019. In the value-added board segment, the share improved considerably, reaching 31% vs 26% in 1Q-2019.
At the end of 1Q-2020, exports to the United States accounted for 9% of the total volume, behaving in accordance with the company’s strategic plan.
During the 1Q-2020 Tecnotabla participated in 15 targeted events which impacted more than 450 final clients, in addition to participation in the massive design and architecture events of the industry such as Zona MACO (with approx. 72 thousand attendees), MEM Industrial (15 thousand attendees) and Camp (8 thousand attendees). The company is also carrying out a digital communication and content strategy through social networks and digital marketing.
