BELGIUM (Notifix).- UNILIN, the international wood group and part of the Amercian group Mohawk Industries, has announced a restructuring of its panels division.

The company informed in a public statement that, “After thorough analysis of all UNILIN Panels activities, including Spanogroup, a number of investments and reorganizations have been identified which are necessary to ensure competitiveness”. Accordingly the intention to close Dekaply, a production site in Erembodegem, Belgium was announced. All production would be integrated into the other sites. Moreover, an unprofitable production line at the Ridder De Ghellinckstraat site in Wielsbeke, Belgium will be terminated. The employees involved will be offered another job within the UNILIN group in the surrounding sites. UNILIN can preserve these jobs thanks to the recent acquisition of the Swedish Pergo group and the new investment in LVT floors, in addition to a continuous investment policy focused on innovation and product development. The company emphasized that the planned changes will have no impact on the existing relationships with the clients.
