Colombian imports of particleboard again surpass the USD 100 million mark

COLOMBIA – In 2019, Colombian particleboard (PB) / MDP imports reached USD 101.26 million. Exceeding USD 100 million for the second year.

871COLOMBIAThis value is equivalent to a slight drop of 1.9 percent compared to the values recorded in 2018 (USD 103.22 million).

Madecentro, with more than 60 percent of the total imported value, was the main importer, with purchases of PB / MDP for USD 63.45 million in 2019. More than three million dollars more than what it imported the previous year (USD 60.19 million) for an annual growth of 5.4 percent.

The second place in the list of importing companies went to Arauco Colombia, with particle board imports in 2019 for USD 8.69 million, a decrease of 14.5 percent (2018: USD 10.17 million).

On the supplying end, Novopan del Ecuador continues to be the leading supplier of particleboard / MDP to Colombia, with USD 63.45 million in 2019. This performance also places Ecuador again in 2019 as the main supplier country, followed by Chile with Arauco and Masisa, Brazil with Duratex and Berneck, and Spain with Tableros Hispanos.
