BRAZIL – In 2019 the United States became the main export market for Brazilian particleboard /MDP (PB/MDP).

Peru followed in second position with purchases of particleboard / MDP from Brazil for USD 13.7 million in 2019. This represents a 14.7 percent drop in the face of exports of USD 16.1 million in 2018. Colombia was the third largest external market with USD 11.4 million and a 25.5 percent contraction against the USD 15.3 million figure recorded in 2018.
In addition to the United States, China was another country that recorded significant growth in Brazilian PB / MDP purchases. With a growth of 67.5 percent, exports of Brazilian particleboard to China reached USD 9.2 million in 2019 (2018: USD 5.5 million).
In total, during 2019 Brazilian exports of particleboard reached USD 79.8 million. Which represented a 9.4 percent drop compared to 2018 when particleboard exports reached USD 88.1 million.
In 2019, the indicators of Brazilian exports of PB / MDP also reveal that three markets: USA, Peru and Colombia, are responsible for more than half (52.9 percent) of exports of Brazilian PB / MDP worldwide.
