SAUDI ARABIA – BoConcept, a Danish brand known for it’s design of bold, stylish furniture, recently announced the opening of it’s 300th store, located in the heart of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
It is BoConcept’s second in the capital, fourth in the country and eleventh in the MENA region. The store is also the biggest BoConcept store in the world, offering customers 1500 square meters of showroom space.
“Being the world’s most global furniture retailer is an absolute privilege, and testament to our products, service and talented colleagues throughout the chain. We are immensely proud to give customers in Riyadh this exceptional store and more opportunities to experience our Danish designs. We of course celebrate this momentous achievement, yet the journey continues. We look forward to bringing BoConcept to even more locations across sixty-five countries,” says Anton Van De Putte, CEO of BoConcept.
The brand is known for its exclusively designed furniture, lighting and accessories, and its comprehensive Interior Design Service. Yet BoConcept’s growth can also be attributed to its franchisee model, the basis on which the majority of its stores are run and owned. This year, BoConcept won its first Global Franchisee Award in the category of Best Lifestyle Franchisee.
Two cabinetmakers founded BoConcept in Denmark, from where the company has designed, developed and produced furniture ever since. After many milestones, including being listed on the Danish stock exchange in 1984 and various acquisitions, the company transitioned from wholesaler to retailer opening its first branded store in Paris in 1993.
Today, BoConcept has grown to become a global furniture retailer, with three hundred stores in sixty-five countries, spanning six continents. The Riyadh store is the latest step in an ambitious expansion program, expected to produce 500 stores by 2024. In Latin America BoConcept is present in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
