ITALY – The Biesse Group of Italy, manufacturer of machinery and whose activity is divided into three divisions: Wood, Glass – Stone and Mechatronics, reported results for 1Q-2019.
Responsible for 69.9 percent of the Group’s revenues, the Wood Division boosted the company’s growth, with consolidated sales of EUR 169 million, up 4.1 percent compared to 1Q-2018 when they reached EUR 162.3 million.
The other two divisions, Glass – Stone and Mechatronics contributed 19.6 and 13.4 percent respectively to sales in 1Q-2019.
The EBITDA of the Group reached EUR 18.9 million in 1Q-2019, 4.4% below 1Q-2018 (€ 19.8 million), which represented an EBITDA margin of 11.2%.
Net income in 1Q-201 totaled € 5.6 million, well below, – 30.9 percent, compared to 1Q-2018 when it totaled € 8.1 million.
In 1Q-2018, the global distribution of sales of the Biesse Group was: Western Europe 45.9 percent (including Italy), Eastern Europe 13.7 percent, North America 21.3 percent, Asia-Pacific 15.6 percent and Rest of the World 3.5 percent.
From 27 – 31 May in Hannover, Biesse will participate at the important wood industry trade fair, Ligna 2019 with an exhibition area of 6,000 m2 in Hall 11, stand B32. In addition to new advanced technological solutions offered by its products, Biesse’s stand will exhibit specific proposals concerning robotics and digitalization. In particular, those visible will include 3 automated process solutions, “from the raw material to the finished product”. The trade fair will also be an occasion to celebrate the Company’s 50th anniversary.
