BRAZIL – Held in one of the most effervescent furniture areas of the country, Fimma Brasil reached its 14th edition between March 26 and 29, 2019, in the city of Bento Gonçalves (RS).
Bringing together national and international brands in the supply of machines, raw materials and accessories for the entire wood-mobile chain, even more concise than in previous years, the fair continues to be a reference in solutions and trends in materials throughout Latin America.
Consequently, large companies choose the occasion to launch their new products and standards, having a direct feedback from furniture manufacturers and design specifiers from within and outside the region, who visit the fair. Among the innovations in the area of décors, the confirmation of the trends already observed by Impress at the beginning of the year and that are becoming increasingly evident in Brazilian furniture were highlighted.
The humanization of products and processes; the rereading of classics with a look towards the future; the rescue of materials that refer to affective memories; the search for comfort; the warm and cozy wood as background for impacting stones, exquisite metals and increasingly colorful surfaces, in addition to the mixture of standards or materials are some of the points that gain more and more notoriety.
Betting on the concept of their products to highlight the lifestyles and movements to which they are connected – an increasingly recurrent process in the design universe -, companies explored new ways of exhibiting their novelties, presenting their surfaces as real works of art and without framing them in a single trend.
Berneck, for example, brought physical mood-boards of its designs to Fimma, highlighting a variety of combinations and an exchange of languages between them. Elegant, natural and powerful, the Marquina design, developed in association with Impress Decor, was one of the most striking. Translating in a very objective way the increasing trend of the use of stones in interior design, its design reproduces the black marble with quite outstanding light streaks, a trend of this year. The option is ideal for furniture and can be an excellent solution for application on large surfaces due to its visual impact.
Another material that is being widely used, earning more and more refined finishes and with a significant role, is metal. For this reason, Duratex opted for the Steel metallic design, of the Essential line, as one of the highlights of its stand. The design created in conjunction with Impress, presents a modern and democratic interpretation of steel, with copper shades that blend with the satin texture. This way, Steel is ideal for those who want to create contemporary and stripped-down projects.
The great demand of the market for increasingly colorful surfaces stimulated GreenPlac to develop six new unicolor standards for the Toccare line. Launched during Fimma, the Tarsila standard, created in conjunction with Impress Decor, is one of the brand’s main products this year. Demonstrating a warm, welcoming and sophisticated tone of red, Tarsila dialogues with a variety of materials, enabling the interconnection of trends that governs the entire design in 2019.
