INDIA – The Spanish surface finishing machine specialist Barberan has installed the first HPL line in India. The client, Stylam, based in Panchkula, is the largest manufacturer and exporter of HPL in Asia.

830BARBERAN2 With the Barberan production line, Stylam expands its portfolio with plates with a thickness of 0.8 millimeters. Previously, only thicknesses between 10 and 15 millimeters could be produced. With the new product line Stylam wants to set another standard and has especially developed the HPL technology in-house.

The machines in which Stylam has invested at its headquarters can produce both a high-gloss and a super matt finish. In addition, boards for the outdoor sector can be produced on the same production line because they are highly resistant to temperature, humidity and solar radiation due to the finishing process – making them perfectly suited for applications such as facade cladding or garden furniture.

When planning the project, Stylam opted for various modules that complement each other to form a complete solution. The configuration of the line includes the model “MER-N-1600”, which is a filler application machine that applies a varnish to cover the pores in the panel; a “BRN-RR” provides a thick varnish layer by means of a high-precision roller and a “BHG-1600-F” coats the panels with high-gloss UV varnishes.

All three modules are designed to fit perfectly into the line in terms of production speed and width to guarantee trouble-free throughput. The use of state-of-the-art technologies ensures Stylam products with excellent quality. Barberan also thought about uncomplicated cleaning and maintenance when designing the machine line.
