ECUADOR – Ecuadorian imports of wood panel processing machinery reached USD 4.6 million in 2018, up 58.4 percent compared to 2017.

German Homag Group and the Italian SCM Group, whose exports to Ecuador grew by more than ten fold, reaching USD 1.5 million and USD 816 thousand respectively, led this growth.

As a whole the dynamics for global suppliers of wood panel processing machinery was very positive. In third place came Italy’s Biesse Group, reaching USD 648 thousand in 2018, an important increase of 50.2 percent as compared to USD 431 thousand in 2017.

Not far behind, the fourth position was for Austrian manufacturer Holz-Her (part of the Weinig Group), up by 52.3 percent and reaching USD 540 thousand in 2018, compared to USD 354 thousand in 2017.
