GERMANY – As already announced by the Surteco Group in October 2018, the company is launching an optimization program this year.
In addition, the employees of Surteco GmbH were informed about company meetings in December. A catalog of measures was developed in order to react to the weak economic sector environment and to return to sustained profitable growth in the future, as the company reports.
“Our industry is subject to major structural and economic burdens,” says Dieter Baumanns, CEO of Surteco GmbH. “This is especially true for Western Europe and presents challenges at German locations. We respond by streamlining cost structures and optimizing processes. In other words, we have to reduce material costs and personnel costs. Operational redundancies should be avoided. Socially compatible solutions are currently being negotiated with the works councils and individual employees.”
In order to remain competitive in the globalized market, the company launched a customer-oriented realignment in 2018. Peter Schulte, Managing Director Sales, explains: “We convince our customers from industry and commerce with bundled competence from a single source – called ‘One-Stop-Shop’. To this end, we merged the former sister companies BauschLinnemann, Döllken-Kunststoffverarbeitung and Surteco Decor, all leading national and international brands of surface technology, into Surteco GmbH. We now offer our customers integrated solutions that are unique in our industry and generate real added value. The performance promises of our new company will be presented to the market for the first time at the innovation event Brera in parallel with the Milan Furniture Fair and at the most important trade fair, the Interzum in Cologne. “
