ECUADOR – In the first eleven months of 2018 (11M-2018) Ecuadorian imports of particleboard/MDP reached USD 15.96 million which represented an increase of 141.4% compared to the same period of the previous year (11M-2017: USD 6.61 million).

The main supplier country in 11M-2018 was Brazil with USD 9.21 million compared to USD 2.89 million in the same period of 2017, a strong increase of 219.0%. It was followed by Chile, whose shipments rose 96.3%, from USD 2.79 million in 11M-2017 to USD 5.48 million in 11M-2018.

Novopan del Ecuador was the largest importer with USD 6.03 million followed by Masisa Ecuador with USD 5.38 million, Imporquivi with USD 1.07 million, Provemadera with USD 932 thousand and Aglomerados Cotopaxi with USD 696 thousand.

Imports of Novopan del Ecuador were those that grew the most, going from USD 132 thousand in 11M-2017 to USD 6.03 million in 11M-2018 a very strong increase of 4,471.8%.
