ITALY – Blum showcased at SICAM its innovative fixing method called Expando T, thus becoming the first fittings manufacturer to offer a single fixing system for all applications with thin fronts, i.e. doors, pull-out fronts and selected lift systems.
The innovation of Blum’s Expando T was recognized in early 2018 when it received the prestigious iF Gold Award 2018.
More and more people like the look of thin (8 mm) panels of various materials, such as particleboard, HPL, or ceramics and Corian. Blum has come up with a new solution to meet this trend: an innovative fixing method called Expando T. This latest innovation gives cabinet makers and manufacturers the ability to implement their own design ideas, stand out even more from their competitors and offer bespoke solutions using products in their product line.
Blum’s new fixing method for thin fronts is based on Expando T. Steel teeth bite into the material of hard fronts, and nylon components ensure firm anchorage in soft panels. To fix Expando T, drill a hole of 10 mm in diameter and just 6 mm in depth. The fixing system can be used for lift systems, doors and pull-out fronts.Clip top Blumotion for thin doors offers even more advantages to manufacturers.
The new fixing system means there is no need for boss drilling, and the standard mounting plate can be used in the existing fixing position. Soft-close Blumotion is seamlessly integrated in the hinge. Not even the cabinet needs to be adjusted.
Expando T delivers tried and tested functionality and the top quality expected from the Austrian fittings manufacturer Blum.
