Egger inaugural class of North Carolina apprentices begins training

U.S. – This past September Egger officially began its Lexington, N.C. apprenticeship program. The program, developed in partnership with Davidson County Community College (DCCC) is a key part of EGGER’s effort to develop a highly skilled workforce for its new facility in Lexington while reinvesting in the local community.

804EGGER3Students enrolled in the apprenticeship program will receive four years of paid training and a scholarship to earn an associate degree from DCCC.

Classes and hands-on job training will educate apprentices in the theory and practice of the mechanical and electrical technician trade. Program participants will also be guaranteed full-time employment at Egger following graduation.

Egger, one of the world’s leading wood-based materials suppliers for the furniture, wood construction and flooring industries, is building its first U.S. manufacturing plant in Davidson County, North Carolina.

This Apprentice Training Program is a key part of Egger’s efforts to develop a high skilled work force for its new state of the art facility, which is projected to create 770 jobs.

The first phase of the development, taking place over the next six years, will create 400 jobs with an initial USD 300 million investment.
