COLOMBIA – In the January – July 2018 period, Turkish shipments of plastic edgebands to Colombia reached USD 1,875,916, a 71.4% increase compared to USD 1,094,330 in the same period of the previous year.

Thus Turkey becomes the main supplier of the segment, displacing the leader Portugal, whose plastic edgeband sales to the Colombian market fell by 15.5%.

In 7M-2018 Portugal’s shipments of plastic edgebands to the Colombian market totaled USD 1,661,136 (7M-2017: USD 1,965,656). Among the ranking of supplying countries Brazil came in third with shipments for USD 327,894 (7M-2017: USD 436,838).

Regarding the ranking of foreign supplying companies of plastic edgebands to the Colombian market, Probos Plasticos of Portugal, a subsidiary of German Surteco, continued as the leading brand with shipments of USD 1,661,136 in 7M-2018 (7M-2017: USD 1,965,656). Followed by Turkish manufacturers Tece Dekor, with USD 647,373 (7M-2017: 333,278); Lignadecor, with USD 549,467 (7M-2017: USD 245,160); Asts Profil, with USD 407,847 (7M-2017: USD 218,776); Brazilian Rehau Industria, with USD 327,893 (7M-2017: 436,838) and Karebant of Turkey with USD 220,609 (7M-2017: USD 148,279).

The suppliers whose shipments had the highest growth in 7M-2018 were Lignadecor with 124.1%, Tece Dekor with 94.2%, Asts Profil with 86.4% and Karebant with 48.4%. While shipments of Probos Plasticos and Rehau Industria fell 15.5% and 24.9% respectively.
