Colombian exports of wooden furniture continue at a good pace in July

COLOMBIA – Colombian wooden furniture exports maintained a good growth rate in July 2018, totaling USD 2.6 million, which represented a growth of 12.3% compared to July 2017 (USD 2.3 million).

801COLOMBIA This performance more than tripled the 3.9% growth of the country’s exports of manufactures during July 2018.

Again the main export company in July 2018 was RTA Muebles with USD 1.13 million, a strong increase of 77.5% when compared to July 2017. With this figure RTA Muebles was responsible for 43.4% of the total wooden furniture exported in July of 2018 (July-2017: 27.5%).

In second place came Muebles Jamar, which also obtained a remarkable growth of its exports in July 2018 with USD 509.2 thousand, equivalent to 19.5% of the total Colombian exports of wooden furniture.

Panama was the main destination of Colombian wooden furniture exports in July 2018, registering USD 654 thousand, although with a drop of 3.5%. Chile was the second most important external market in the period, with shipments of USD 554 thousand (July -2017: USD 280 thousand), which represented a growth of 97.9% compared to the same month of 2017. In the month of July, the two main foreign markets represented 62.9% of the total wooden furniture exported compared to 41.2% that these two destinations represented in July 2017.
