GERMANY – German kitchen furniture exports grew 5.07% in the first half of 2018 compared to the same period 2017 reaching € 1.04 billion.
By contrast, imports decreased by 8.7% to around € 46 million in the same period. This resulted in a positive trade balance of more than € 950 million.
France continues to be the biggest consumer of German kitchen furniture with € 264 million (+ 7.4%). Followed by the Netherlands with € 152 million (+ 4.6%) and Austria with € 82 million (+ 18.7%). Among the top 10 markets kitchen furniture exports to Switzerland (-5.9%) and the United Kingdom (-2.3%) were down.
The most important kitchen furniture supplying country to the German market is Italy. However, imports of around € 11 million were 20.6% less than in the first half of 2017. Lithuania continues to be second in this ranking, with around € 9 million still ahead of Poland (€ 6 million).
