Ramp-up of America’s most advanced OSB plant

U.S. – Martco’s new OSB multi-opening plant in Corrigan, Texas, has been completed.

781DIEFFENBACHER1 On April 24 the 14 openings were loaded for the first time and the first 14 boards were produced concurrently. This is the newest and most technologically advanced facility of its kind in the United States.

The supplier, German Dieffenbacher received the project’s order in 2015. In addition to the 12×26 ft. multi-opening press, Dieffenbacher also delivered the 4-head forming station and the Flexoplan® forming line.

Together with a press line in Oakdale, Louisiana, commissioned in 2006, Martco now operates two OSB multi-opening plants from Dieffenbacher. The new plant in Texas is designed to produce 750,000 m³ OSB per year.

“Many thanks to everyone who worked to make this happen,” stated Terry Secrest, vice president of OSB and corporate safety director. “We will continue to test equipment until production ramps up in the very near future.”

Martco is a division of the RoyOMartin Lumber Co. The Texas subsidiary, employs approximately 165 team members.
