Poland’s Forte orders Smart Factory from Homag

POLAND –Forte, one of the main global manufacturers of RTA furniture, has awarded the Homag Group a major contract for one of the “most modern furniture productions worldwide”, according to a statement.

778FORTE 1 The total volume of the project in the new furniture plant planned by Forte in Suwalki amounts to 60 million euros and should be completed in 2021.

In the joint project with Forte, the Homag Group is responsible for the entire production plant. This consists of several production lines and is a combination of mass production and lot size 1 production. Homag is networking the total of around 20 cells, which consist of more than 80 individual machines. In addition to robots, driverless transport systems also ensure a high degree of automation.

“We bring in our high level of competence in the field of digitization and networking,” explains Homag Chairman of the Board Pekka Paasivaara. “The ‘smart factory’ will thus become reality in furniture production.”

“The Homag Group has convinced us with the digital consistency and future-proofing of their solution. As the only supplier, the company can supply us with everything from a single source,” emphasizes Klaus-Dieter Dahlem, Production and Technology Director at Forte.
