CHILE – Chilean Empresas CMPC sales volume of plywood in the 4Q-2017 was down 23% compared with the same period 2016 and reached 87,000 m³ (4Q-2016: 113,000m3).

According the CMPC report, the downturn was due to lower exports within Latin America and to the US. The trend seen in the past two quarters has thus continued.

The second quarter registered a 2% decline, the third quarter was the weakest period with a 26% drop. Full-year plywood sales were hence down 9% at 366,000 m3.
