BRAZIL – Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, Duratex has received the ECO 2017 Award in the Processes category.

Promoted by Amcham Brazil, the initiative has recognized for 35 years the companies that develop the best socio-environmental practices in the country. In the 2017 edition, Duratex was awarded for the projects implemented at the Taquari Panels unit in Rio Grande do Sul, related to the reuse of 100% of the effluents generated and treated at the plant and for the use of eucalyptus biomass for thermal energy generation, instead of liquefied petroleum gas.

The event’s awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, December 13, in São Paulo. Luciana Alvarez, sustainability manager at Duratex, was the company’s representative at the ceremony.
