CHILE – Arauco, one of the world’s largest wood panel manufacturers, reported its results for the third quarter 2017 (3Q17).
The Company’s Net income reached USD 148.4 million, an increase of 372.6% when compared to the USD 31.4 million obtained in the third quarter of 2016. During 3Q17 sales revenues reached USD 1,393.4 million, a 17.3% increase compared to the USD 1,187.5 million obtained in the 3Q16. Adjusted EBITDA reached USD 385.3 million in the 3Q17, an increase of 50.4% compared to the USD 256.1 million obtained during the third quarter of 2016.
In the third quarter 2017 Arauco’s Wood Products sales reached USD 687 million, a 7.7% increase compared to USD 638.1 million in the same period 2016. Wood products sales represented 49.3% of Arauco’s total sales in the third quarter 2017.
During the third quarter 2017 Arauco changed its corporate image in order to transmit greater closeness and differentiation in a visual language that is simple and global. To this effect, Arauco is able to transition from the corporate world to products in contact with their customers and end consumers. The new image aims to express the evolution that the company has experienced in over 40 years in Chile and the world, by means of the concept “Renewables for a better life”. This image emerges from its history as a company and its corporate identity, which is supported by the renewable origin of Arauco’s resources and the development of products and solutions that improve people’s lives. Another aspect is the global nature of Arauco, which, nearing its 50th anniversary, has transformed into an internationally renowned company that maintains its ongoing and dynamic growth under high management standards.
