NETHERLANDS - Ingka Group, the largest retailer of Ikea products, has unveiled its inaugural Ikea city store in San Francisco, while also introducing its second city store in Toronto, as a strategic initiative to foster greater proximity to customers across North America.

These urban stores are thoughtfully designed and customized to cater to the specific needs of local clientele, presenting the iconic Ikea experience in an accessible and budget-friendly manner. Conveniently accessible via public transportation, these establishments showcase a diverse selection of approximately 2,500 products ready for immediate takeaway, while also offering the complete product range for ordering, complemented by hassle-free delivery choices.

Notably, the fresh addition in San Francisco forms a part of an Ingka Centres meeting destination, scheduled for a 2024 debut. This multi-faceted establishment will not only feature the newly established store but also house the adaptable co-working area known as Hej!Workshop, alongside an inventive gastronomic court named Saluhall.

In Canada, the primary Ikea retailer has been making substantial investments to enhance both the in-person and digital shopping experiences, alongside refining fulfillment processes. Situated in Toronto's Scarborough region, this latest store supplements the inaugural city store launched in 2022 and the four pre-existing full-scale stores in the Greater Toronto vicinity.
