COLOMBIA- The value of Colombian particleboard imports (PB / MDP) reached USD 178.98 million in 2022, which represented an increase of 26.5 percent over 2021 (USD 141.51 million).

Madecentro, the country's largest distributor of inputs and services for the furniture and wood industry, was again the leading importer in 2022 with USD 115.37 million representing a 23.0 percent increase over 2021 (USD 93.81 million).

Maderkit, one of the country's leading furniture manufacturers, was the second largest PB / MDP importing company in 2022 with USD 13.34 million, which represented a very marginal increase of 0.5 percent compared to 2021 (USD 13.28 million ).

Duratex, the country's leading wood-based panel manufacturer, was the third largest PB / MDP importer with USD 13.01 million in 2022, followed by Masisa with USD 10.33 million.

Ecuador was again the main supplier country of PB / MDP to the important Colombian market, surpassing for the first time the USD 125 million mark with USD 128.47 million which represented an 18.1% improvement compared to 2021 (USD 108.74 million).

Chile surpassed Brazil and was the second supplier country with USD 19.45 million in 2022, representing a significant growth of 62.0%.

Followed by Brazil (USD 19.35 million) and Spain (USD 5.61 million).
