Peruvian wood furniture imports fall 25.7% in 9M-2022

PERU - In the first nine months of 2022 (9M-2022) the value of Peruvian imports of wood furniture was USD 38.17 million, a sharp drop of 25.7 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (9M-2021: USD 51.36 million).

1013PERUBrazil was again the main supplier country in the period with USD 24.45 million, representing 64.1 percent of the total imported in the period by the Peruvian market. It was followed by China with USD 7.08 million and Colombia with USD 1.55 million.

The main Peruvian importers of wood furniture in the period were Homecenters Peruanos with its Promart brand, which reached USD 10.80 million, followed by Sodimac / Maestro, Falabella Group's home improvement chain, with USD 10.28 million. When compared to the same period of 2021, this represented drops of 29 percent and 27.8 percent, respectively.

Consolidated imports of the country's two main home improvement chains (Promart and Sodimac/Maestro) accounted for 55.3 percent of total wood furniture imports to Peru in 9M-2022, compared to 57.4 percent in the same period of 2021.
