USA - Boise Cascade, a major producer of engineered wood products and plywood in North America, has officially acquired Brockway-Smith Company (Brosco), a fifth-generation, family-owned company founded in 1890.
Brosco operates distribution centers in Hatfield, MA, and Portland, ME, offering interior and exterior doors, mouldings, railings, windows, stair parts, and composite products.
Jeff Strom, Executive Vice President of Building Materials Distribution at Boise Cascade, expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating, "We look forward to expanding our capacity to serve millwork customers in Northeast markets." The purchase price for Brosco, which includes the acquisition of its two full-scale distribution centers, is USD 172 million, subject to certain closing adjustments.
Boise Cascade currently operates 10 millwork locations in rapidly growing markets, specializing in exterior and interior doors, frames, hardware, and pre-finishing options. This acquisition brings together two companies with similar cultures and a shared commitment to customers and associates. Charlie Smith, President & CEO of Brosco, emphasized the benefits, saying, "Boise Cascade is a large and successful organization that will allow all our customers to continue enjoying the outstanding Brosco products and service that have set the standard in the Northeast Millwork market for over 130 years."
